About
My doctoral thesis was on alternative forms of life and participation articulated in critical utopian theory (particularly post-structural and post-left anarchism), and in utopian spaces, including intentional communities, autonomous social centres, ecovillages and housing co-operatives. An edited version of my thesis was published by Routledge:

I'm just coming to the end of a post-doc with the Centre for Advanced Studies at the University of Nottingham, and I am working on a similar methodology to my PhD thesis in dialogue with critical pedagogy, using participatory methods in workshops with autonomous social movements.
I've done lots of teaching on undergraduate political theory modules at Nottingham University and am currently teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules on the philosophy of social sciences and research methods at Nottingham Trent International College. I also have an interest in popular education and have been involved in various projects and workshops.
I have given several conference papers on my doctoral research, and have also co-organised a conference' "KnowledgeLab 4: How do we know?" at hosted Nottingham University for academics and activists interested in radical forms of knowledge which involved a variety of theoretical and practical workshops.
My theoretical and ethical basis is in pst-structural and post-left anarchism, and my research interests are utopian theory, utopian practices, intentional communities, autonomous spaces, critical pedagogy and epistemology. I am interested in the relationship between theory and practice and also in radical, critical and participatory research methods.
