About

My research concentrates upon poetry and fiction of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and I have a particular interest in the disciplinary interface between literature and geography.

I have recently completed a monograph on Ciaran Carson - the first such critical study of his work - which will be published by Liverpool University Press in September 2010. I am also co-editing two collections of essays on Poetic Geographies (with David Cooper) and Regional Literary Cultures: Modernism and After (with James Moran). In the immediate future, I'm planning to write papers and articles on Peter Riley, Michael Longley and Robert Minhinnick, Basil Bunting, Jon McGregor, and Tim Robinson. In the medium term, my next major project will be a book on literary geographies.

It'd be good to hear from anyone with similar interests.
