About

I am interested in migration and identies in the Viking Age. Currently much of my time is taken up thinking about Ireland, since I am part of a research network that tries to link scientific research (especially genetics) with Arts-based disciplines: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/~aezweb/conference/doku.php?id=genes:home

My other research interest is the impact of disease on medieval life. I am part of a research group on 'Disease, Disability and Medicine in Medieval Europe' : http://disease.nottingham.ac.uk/doku.php
and I am currently co-writing a book on disease and impairment in Anglo-Saxon England.

At the moment I am also the Director of the Institute for Medieval Research at the University of Nottingham.
